An Introduction to Western Part of Bhutan
This trip provides introduction to Western Bhutan’s sights and places within Paro and Thimphu.
Day 1; Fly in PARO; Drive to Thimphu
Remember to confirm the departure timings of Druk Air by calling Druk Air offices is respective drukair offices for your flight to Bhutan.
Upon arrival in Paro airport, clear immigration and customs formalities, and meet your Guide and driver outside. Transfer to Thimphu, the capital.
After lunch visit Tashicho Dzong, Zangdopelri temple and other sights as per available time and interests.

Day 2; THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING and evening drive to PARO
There are a good many things to see in the capital which has a very relaxed, laid-back feel about it. Thimphu is relatively small having a population of approximately 90,000 people and the streets are wide and tree lined.
In the morning you will visit the Late King’s Memorial Chorten, the National Library, the indigenous hospital specializing in herbal medicine, handmade paper factory, and the nunnery at Zilukha.
In the afternoon, tour of the school of fine arts where young students learn the traditional arts and crafts (Zo Rig Chusum – the thirteen crafts); Zangtopelri Lhakhang, the Handicraft Emporium and the local handicraft centers to see the varieties of textiles, thangkha paintings, masks, jewellery etc. on display.
Overnight in Paro.
Day 3; EXCURSION TO TAKTSANG
Early Morning drive to Paro which will take a little more than an hour and we visit the Paro valley, site of the famous Tiger’s Nest, the Taktsang Monastery where the legendary Guru Padmasambhava is believed to have flown from Tibet on the back of a tiger to defeat the demons who were opposing the spread of Buddhism in Bhutan. The walk is long, and can be steep in places, but the views are stunning. After lunch at the cafeteria, return to Paro.
Overnight in Paro.
Day 4; DEPARTURE
After breakfast at the hotel drive to the airport for your return flight.
